    Dear Chairman and Commissioners,

My name is Ahmed Haruna, and I'm an everyday citizen from Ohio writing to share my thoughts on the Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on Prediction Markets, as published in 91 FR 12516. I'm not an expert or a big-time investor, just someone who believes in the value of fair, regulated markets where regular people like me can participate.

I'm new to prediction markets, but I strongly support their existence under sensible regulation. I've been reading up on how these platforms work, and Im impressed by how they gather information from all kinds of people to predict outcomes more accurately than polls or pundits often do. To me, thats not just neat, its useful for everyone, whether you trade or not. I think its important that ordinary folks have the freedom to take part in legal, regulated markets like these. If only big institutions or insiders can play, then all the valuable insights stay locked up with them. Letting regular people join in makes the system fairer and the predictions sharper.

I also want to highlight how informed trading in these markets benefits everyone. When people whove done their homework trade based on what they know, it helps set prices that reflect the real likelihood of events, whether its an election, a policy change, or an economic shift. That kind of price discovery isnt just good for traders, its a public service. It gives businesses, policymakers, and even everyday people like me better data to make decisions. I worry that over-restricting these markets or banning certain contracts, as some might push for, would choke off that flow of information. Addressing the CFTCs questions 7 and 29, I believe the public interest is served by fostering innovation through prediction markets and recognizing that informed trading often improves accuracy, not harms it.

Of course, I get that there are concerns about things like insider trading or manipulation. Those are real issues, but I dont think the answer is shutting down or overly restricting these markets. The CFTC already has rules and tools to go after bad actors in other markets, and those should be enough to handle problems here too. Banning whole categories of contracts or making it impossible for regular people to participate just punishes the wrong folks.

I urge you to support proportionate regulation of prediction markets. Keep them legal and accessible on regulated platforms, with clear rules to stop abuse, but dont let fear of a few bad apples spoil a system that can benefit so many. Thank you for considering my input.

    Sincerely,

    Ahmed Haruna
