I am strongly in favor of greater regulations on prediction markets. As they exist now, they not only allow but encourage insider trading schemes that make our society less secure; ensuring that certain people benefit when specific events (be they tragic, foolish, or nonsensical) will inevitably lead to some of those people making sure that those events take place. Furthermore, the whole industry of prediction markets is extraordinarily predatory and deliberately preys on people with gambling addictions and other extenuating factors preventing them from accurately judging risk. Prediction Markets cannot continue as they are now, for the good of the United States and all people in it.
