Dear Chairman and Commissioners,
The reason I even know about this proposed regulation is that Kalshi sent me and its other users emails with a questionnaire that then made AI generated responses praising prediction markets, that would then be sent to you all. I think it's important that you know this, many, if not a majority of comments you've received may be from this ploy.
I don't think prediction markets are good at all, despite participating in them lightly in an attempt to gain personal benefit. They are gambling, there's not way around it. Anyone that says otherwise is simply not using the correct definition of gambling. Prediction Markets are a blight on society. They lead to corruption from our leaders who are able to easily manipulate the markets and insider trade. We now have a generation of people that think they can only get ahead by gambling, I know many people like this in my life, and it's heartbreaking to see.
Prediction markets are a cancer, and I think they should be regulated out of existence. People should gain money in society by making worthwhile contributions to society. Getting lucky from gambling does nothing to advance society, and it should be discouraged and disallowed in every possible way. A few friends betting on card games or sports is fine, but these giant corporations that profit off the gambling of desperate people need to be stopped.
I urge you all to do everything you can to make these big prediction markets illegal.
