Event contracting is not the trading of assets. It is gambling and should be treated as gambling. How is placing an event contract buy on whether or not some celebrity is going to say a phrase on TV any different than placing a bet on whether the Flyers are going to beat the Penguins?
Prediction markets should be treated like gambling markets with all of the same protections in place.
