Prediction markets are essentially gambling sites for war. Why pay my taxes to fund an overinflated military budget when I can just profit from overseas conflict directly? Stupid rhetorical questions aside, the whole concept is evil. Not only do "prediction markets" incentivise gambling, but the chips you use in this bet are the lives of men, women, and children. This cannot be normalized, in a future where this takes hold, the Epstein class will bet on which marginalized community ICE raids week by week. Baby boomer alcoholics making chump change from war crimes will cheer from their wobbling barstools, seeing news stories of rubble and blood. The dollar does not trump the lives of others. Business practices that hinge on the dehumanization of those out of sight (and evidently out of mind) must not be allowed to continue. People overseas are not to be treated as just another business opportunity/investment/product that can be discarded after use. We the people of earth will not divide ourselves while the ruling class spectates and smirks, watching the blood flow from their sterilized white felt thrones. This practice either needs to be regulated to a point where it is no longer advertised as a legitimate investment across social media platforms, or (my preferred option) the whole thing needs to be uprooted and outlawed.
Do not give the average American the option to be Dick Cheney.
