Prediction markets serve absolutely no purpose except to enrich those who can affect outcomes and strip money from those who can't. They incentivize antisocial behaviors and turn individuals' lives into fodder for cheap bets. At minimum, they should be VERY heavily regulated, but I would prefer they be shut down outright.
