The Prediction Market industry is the latest step in our country's legitimization of economic exploitation of its most vulnerable citizens. It's gambling, plain and simple, that has been allowed to continue unabated by every institution and persons in those institutions with any authority to stop it.
I shouldn't even need to say this, but at the very least Prediction Market services should not be accessible to children and they should be heavily penalized if they allow a minor to utilize them. Ideally they shouldn't be allowed to exist at all, given the way they incentivize both the wealthy and collectives of private citizens to intervene in real world events that in any sane society would not have pools of money tied to their outcomes. Things like our country's involvement in Iran being the subject of bets made on these platforms is unacceptable, and invites corruption at every level of interaction.
Treat this industry like the threat to our collective good that it is, or you will continue to see public sentiment for every actor in the economic sector plummet as the average person finds themselves more and more taken advantage of by systems that have no interest in whether they live or die, but simply how much money can be squeezed out of them.
