These "prediction markets" need to be heavily regulated.
As they are, they allow rampant insider trading, and manipulation of the reality that they presume to "predict". People are incentivized to "make their bet win".
As an example: if there is a prediction that "the next wildfire will happen on May 14, 2026, someone with a large stake in that bet is incentivized to start that fire.
These sites should either be heavily regulated or outright banned.
