    Comment Text:

Prediction markets are a fundamentally undemocratic construct wherein insiders are not just freely able, but encouraged to place bets on outcomes that they know the answers to ahead of time. This is bad enough when speculating about relatively random outcomes like if the US will confirm the existence of aliens, but given that prediction markets also host bets for who the likely democratic nominee will be for president in 2028 or when they *accurately* predicted the outcome of the 2024 election, it is plain to see that people who bet on a specific outcome are incentivized to attempt to make it happen. Ban prediction markets.
