These prediction markets are just betting, they should be banned/regulated in accordance preexisting regulations around gambling. Allowing these organizations to “self-regulate” will have zero affect and provide no protections to the general public. If these markets are allowed free rein their systems will be abused by those with enough money or insider information to sway the results in whichever direction they desire up to and including real world events.
