Prediction markets, as gambling systems, should be highly regulated at the very least, if not completely outlawed. High-profile examples of insider trading have already occurred, ranging from as trivial as whether Jeff Bezos would attend the Superbowl to as critical as whether bombings would occur in the Middle East. These are not "predictions" if you already know the outcome!!! Furthermore, allowing people to BET MONEY on some of the most serious and devastating issues facing our world today is de-incentivizing empathy in favor of personal gain - and this is extremely troubling in a world as destabilized as ours.
