Prediction markets are nothing more than betting. These are destructive devices used to manipulate people and steal money from the desperate. Statistically they are not event good prediction engines as they are little better than chance except for a few high-profile bets that have been heavily influenced by insider knowledge. These "markets" should be fully regulated as gambling websites and any manipulation or "insider trading" should be held legally accountable as fraudulent cheating. Anyone who engaged in this insider manipulation should be retroactively prosecuted for this fraudulent behavior for all cases since these markets were established.
