Prediction markets are dangerous and allow gambling on events that absolutely should not bet on; a recent example is Polymarket taking odds on the fate of the pilots downed in Iran earlier this month. Furthermore, it allows people with inside information to profit; this could encourage people to leak information to better their results, and certainly borders on the idea of insider trading.

Thus, It is not outside the realm of the hypothetical for, say, folks in the U.S. militaryto divulge classified information to get a better Polymarket payout. Lack of regulation in the "prediction market" sphere is dangerous to its customers, the public, and indeed the world at large, when diplomatic events are being affected by folks trying to profit off it.
