Prediction markets are so evidently illegal in the ways that they promote, incentivize, and legitimize insider trading that they should have been heavily regulated if not outright banned months ago. The fact that this commission has not only neglected to take action but is preventing states from taking the regulation of these highly dangerous markets into their own hands is a striking condemnation of everyone within the CFTC.
If you wish to exercise your exclusive authority to regulate prediction markets then exercise it. The longer you wait, the more damage is done. Regulate prediction markets.
