As of the time of this comment's writing, prediction markets are both functionally indistinguishable from a standard betting company - indeed, the majority of transactions on both Kalshi and Polymarket are made on sports events - and also directly encourage the influencing of public events and policies in the interest of profit. This, as a result, allows these markets to act as a form of not only insider trading, but legalized bribery.
With this in mind, this commenter requests in the strongest terms that prediction markets be regulated in the same matter as traditional gambling enterprises, if not considered the same enterprise outright.
