These prediction markets and apps need heavy regulation to protect users and non-users from gross abuses of financial manipulation. Obviously, companies in these markets cannot be trusted to self-regulate. The CFTC needs to be adequately and fairly staffed and funded to control the worst impulses that these companies are currently indulging in. Insider trading was made illegal for a reason, and allowing it to happen on a massive scale is wantonly reckless and needs to be ended as quickly as possible.
