These prediction markets must be regulated so that they are only allowed under VERY specific conditions operated by universities for research purposes. There should be ethical standards and training required to set up even a single prediction market. Otherwise, it's just gambling. Whomever is running a prediction market should have small and regulated profit margins so they are not incentivized to influence outcomes.
Currently, this is just unregulated gambling that is going to make a lot of people poor
