The unregulated prediction marked had already created both situations where people can profit on the deaths and misfortune of others, as well as opportunities for people to influence events into favorable outcomes in relation to their bets. It is only a matter of time before we get an instance of someone doing both of these, killing or harming to win a bet.
Even aside of the question of murder and misfortune for profit these gambling sites are stacked so in favor of the rich and powerful that even when an outcome occurs (such as the Zelinskyy suit event) those with influence can sway the ruling in the outcome they bet on. Cheating, in short.
All of this and more for absolutely zero benefit to anyone save for the profits of the owners.
