Polymarkets or prediction markets such as Kalshi and Polymarket have wormed their way into every aspect of the media and into our lives. These sites allow gambling on any topic you can think of -- even the length of White House briefings or war plans/maneuvers.
The U.S. government should regulate these new financial 'instruments'. They are dangerous in many ways for consumers who now carry slot machines on their phones. They can be powerful conduits for insider trading among corrupt politicians.
The same big money interests who are heavily invested in prediction markets are aggressively adopting AI. They may be commenting on this issue with their machine-generated slop.
There is a huge divide between what regular people like me want and what the world that tech elites intend to build. We need guidelines that work for people instead of rich tech elites.
