Prediction market are unchartered territory and can affect market integrity and the financial details of all our lives. The prospect of insider trading is not only real, it is happening. And I can't believe we're even talking about predicting (betting!) on everything from military actions to political results. This is having real effects on how people view the government and commercial entities.
Please do not allow event contracts related to military operations or ANY political outcomes. In particular, I find it unthinkable that you would support any event contract where the outcome can be known in advance or controlled by a select person or group. It is a given that this will be manipulated.
Under the Commodity Exchange Act, the Commission has the responsibility to create rules to govern event contracts. Please get rid of these contracts and put in guidance that demands responsibility to detect insider trading. This is a huge fleecing of our citizens and it treats them like serfs or worse. These are life and death decisions with enormous moral implications.
