Prediction markets pose a national security threat to the United States. The regulations proposed by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) do not go far enough in protecting America. Banning all foreign policy or international affairs contracts on prediction market platforms would promote American strength. If immediate action is not taken to halt these kinds of contracts, the CFTC will be forever remembered as a promoter of American weakness.

From the Iran war to the overthrow of Nicolas Maduro, Polymarket event contracts on these issues have taken center stage. Important security matters have become trivialized. President Trump often states that war plans or details on foreign affairs should be kept to a minimum in order to not help America's enemies. However, prediction markets offer individuals the ability to bet big on these issues which could enable adversaries to publicly view America's next moves. Despite the supposed ban on insider training by prediction markets, it is within the realm of possibility for anyone to trade on these matters. It is entirely plausible that a government official could slip through the cracks of an insider trading ban and profit massively on a critical national security issue. While there is no confirmed case of such corrupt behavior taking place today, it is not worth leaving it to chance one day. Risking American national security to appease a few profiteers will only set America back.

Promoters and defenders of prediction markets (especially on foreign policy and international affairs contracts) are gambling with the safety of American families. The CFTC has a unique opportunity to protect the American people from a potential security crisis. Inaction might result in the destruction of America.
